Inside #TeamPelican, Winter 2025

Hosting our Pelican Briefs, supporting our local community, winter wellbeing and more: read on for my latest highlights!

Welcoming over 300 team members to our 2025 Pelican Briefs

We hosted 7 sessions across 3 days in November, delivering over 10 hours of content!

We shared our latest updates from across Pelican, including a sneak preview of some exciting projects coming up in 2026, recognised team members who have stood out from the crowd this year, and ran a live Q&A with our Senior Leadership Team.

It was fantastic to see everyone in person and we are looking forward to 2026!

Sponsoring two local sports clubs

At Pelican, supporting our local communities means a lot to us.

In recent months, we have been proud to renew our sponsorship of two local sports clubs: Nailsea United FC and Nailsea & Backwell Rugby Club.

Our new pitch-side advertising board at Nailsea United is a great opportunity to promote our ongoing relationship with men's health organisation Talk Club.

We are big advocates of Talk Club's 'How are you? Out of 10?' approach, which we embrace in everyday conversation here at Pelican.

Meanwhile, we are also the lead sponsors of Nailsea & Backwell Rugby Club's Under 13s match day kit this season, with two of our team members' sons aptly flying the Pelican flag each week!

As one of Nailsea's largest employers, it's great to play our part in helping both clubs with their ongoing investment needs and we wish them well for the rest of the season.

Getting behind National Customer Service Week 2025

We recognised the annual event by focusing on the customer experience, our people, and what great service looks like.

As in previous years, the Pelican selfie frame was out in force! Our teams came together to take their photos and reflect on what great customer service means to them.

We loved marking the week, which always leaves us feeling energised and proud of all the support we offer our customers.

Hosting DTLFest '25

Following the success of our debut event last year, we brought back DTLFest in October. Aimed at our Deputy Team Leaders - you'll see where we got the name of our event from - DTLFest is a great opportunity for them to get together in person and develop their leadership skills.

With themed areas taking inspiration from some of our most-loved festivals, we offered plenty of opportunities for networking, collaboration, and discussion.

Many of our Deputy Team Leaders aspire to become future Team Leaders, and we are always proud to see them take on new opportunities to progress!

Encouraging winter wellbeing during the festive season

Last but not least, with the festive season in full swing, we gave our team members plenty of opportunities to get involved.

As well as hosting another fantastic Christmas Party at the Grand Pier, we're also due to give out over 100 prizes to team members in our Big Christmas Raffle.

These events are a great way to celebrate another successful year for us at Pelican, and to thank all our team members for their continued hard work.

With the support of our Health & Wellbeing network, we are also recognising that Christmas isn't necessarily everyone's favourite time of year. With a focus on 'Winter Wellbeing', our lunchtime group walks are one of the ways we've been reminding everyone to continue looking out for themselves - and each other - throughout the festive season.

That's all from me on the blog for 2025, but we'll be back in 2026. Follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram for more insights into life at Pelican.
