What a month we have had! I have been so proud of our team who have been working harder than ever to support our local community by volunteering and fundraising for some amazing charities, all while providing first class service to our customers.
I would like to start by sharing a few comments left by our customers following their experience with our team on our live chat service:

Very helpful, it wasn’t easy for me as I was concerned and anxious, and the person chatting did a very good job with me.
Beth who was the agent who helped me today was amazing. She was so compassionate and really tried to help me and she gave me my options and helped me make the right decision!
Jade was very helpful and managed to email across our missing bills. She is also arranging for our 2 separate supplies to be amalgamated into 1 bill which will make life much easier
I could go on forever, but I want to take this opportunity to thank our entire Live Chat team for doing such a superb job 🙂
Now it wouldn’t be November at #PelicanTowers without our internal staff seminars and this year for the first time ever, we managed to get every single one of our team leaders and managers in the same room!
Our leadership event and aptly named ‘Pelican Briefs’ are a great opportunity for me to share some exciting business updates as well as consistent messages on what the future holds for #TeamPelican. We always take the time in every event to celebrate the team members who have gone above and beyond to live our company values and yet again I was not disappointed. One of my favourite parts of the day is reading out inspiring stories about our team who have been doing amazing things for our people and our customers #Proud
November also marked the very first graduation ceremony of our ‘Customer Services Academy’! Every new member of the team takes part in our innovative three week training course ran by our expert Learning and Development team before taking what they have learnt and joining their new team, wherever that may be within the business.
It has been fantastic to see how well our newest flock of Pelican’s have progressed over just three short weeks and I am excited to see our training room back in use as our second class of 2018 begins.
Nearly every time I walk into the office I hear stories of teams utilising their community day to support a cause that they care about.
It was great to see members from our Business Support Services out and about this month using their community day to support the Clevedon branch of the Royal British Legion, collecting for their poppy appeal.
Team Leader Ben said “We are really pleased we could support the local branch to mark the centenary since the end of WW1.”
I also want to say a huge thank you and share a photo of our fabulous Chippenham Meter Reading team who spend a day with Wessex Water and the Royal Logistic Corps as part of a project to plant 1,000 trees to mark the centenary of the end of World War 1.
In fundraising news this month, I am excited to share that we raised a grand total of £753.71 for our quarterly charity, Ronald McDonald House Bristol. The team have been working extremely hard over the last three months to raise as much money as possible, including the much anticipated ‘Halloween’ extravaganza!
There is no time to slow down though as the team got straight back onto the fundraising train to collect for our final quarterly charity of 2018, Children’s Hospice South West as they dressed down in their comfiest pyjamas and onsies.
It was amazing to hear yet another £243.14 was raised and with half of the money going to BBC’s Children in Need and the other half going to the children’s hospice, it was a great opportunity to share the money raised with charities that work non-stop to support families up and down the country.
