I’d like to start this month by celebrating our team and the amazing service they give to our customers.
My first shout out of the month goes to Anthea in our Customer Relations department. Anthea’s dedication to customer service and passion for taking ownership led her to receiving a hand delivered gift from one of our customers along with a card displaying a lovely message of thanks. #Proud
I also want to recognise Kia from our Credit Management department who received some lovely comments from a customer that she had assisted:
“Thank you for both sorting out the problem with the minimum of fuss. You have restored my faith in the public sector since one normally only hears dialogue in situations when parties get annoyed “
Finally, a big a shout out to Simon and Sarah on our External Liaison team, who got in touch to tell us:
“Simon couldn’t have been more co-operative and Sarah enormously co-operative and most courteous”
All of these examples highlight how important our service is to our customers and how the little things we do can really make a big impact.
On the theme of Customer Service, we had exciting news this month that we had been shortlisted for the Customer Excellence Award at the Business Leader Awards. This event is one of the most prestigious business awards in the South West and celebrates business and enterprise. A team of 14 judges spent five weeks visiting businesses and looking over the entries to reach a decision and there were Over 180 entries received. Although we didn’t take home the trophy this year, I am extremely #proud to have ‘Team Pelican’ in the final four!
Our community is something that is very close to our hearts at Pelican Business Services and I am always overwhelmed by the generosity of our team.
Earlier this month Kyle from our External Liaison team took part in the epic South Coast Ultra Challenge which consisted of 100k walk for the very worthy Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Kyle said:
“The event was brutal and definitely one of the toughest days of my life so far! Hard work but worth it because of the money raised”
A huge well done Kyle!
Continuing on the theme of community, a big thank you to all of our team who joined in for Jeans for Gene’s day where we raised a fantastic £119.50. The money will help to provide grants to support children affected by genetic disorders. These grants help the families gain access to much needed equipment, nursing and patient support services.
Rounding up community news, I was excited to reveal this month that Pelican are now the proud sponsor of Nailsea United Football Club training tops. We can’t wait to see the team in action.
Moving on to Health & Well-being and our team had a great time taking part in our School Disco fancy dress! As usual our teams participation was excellent and we raised an amazing £135.34 for this quarters Charity MS Therapy bringing our total to £627.41.
As we have now (unfortunately) come to the end of the summer months, our #PelicansOnTour photo competition has also drawn to a close. I have loved seeing our teams photos from around the world and it’s amazing to see how far we have travelled.
In first place we have Lee from our Business Support Services team in Rome, in second place we have Mark from our Meter Operations team at Glastonbury and in third place is our External Liaison Office team enjoying their alfresco huddle!
I can’t wait to see where October takes us!
