Our leadership team
Charley joined Pelican Business Services in January 2015 and has over ten years’ experience in engaging and leading large teams driven to deliver award winning customer service.
Charley is proud of the really unique culture which has been created at Pelican Business Services that has a complete focus on values and behaviours to drive team members to become the best version of themselves, to ultimately deliver a great experience for customers.
In her personal life Charley is a wife, mum and founder of ‘The NICU Foundation’, a charity that raises money to support Neonatal Intensive Care Units to save miniature lives every day.
Head of Meter Operations
Mike has 34 years’ experience in the water industry having specialised in water supply operations, auditing, system implementation, accounting and latterly billing and customer services.
Over last two years Mike has worked closely with Charley and the management team, firstly to learn and then to help embed a unique new culture to Pelican that is centred around helping people around ourselves to become great.
Mike is the father of two children both studying at university. He is a keen runner, hillwalker and skier, a former football player and an avid angler with a love for travelling.
Head of People
Debbie’s career encompasses over 20 years of expertise in HR, talent development, employee engagement and performance management. She is passionate about developing people here at Pelican Business Services and has created a number of exciting career enhancement and development programmes for our people to benefit from (including award winning coaching, mentoring and management development initiatives).
When she’s not designing innovative new people programmes, you’ll find Debbie ‘swinging her irons’ on some of the beautiful golf courses we have surrounding us in the North Somerset and Bristol area.
Head of Business Support Services
Lee has worked in engineering and support functions for over 30 years. Predominantly this was in the Telecomms sector programme managing large scale infrastructure implementations and leading supports teams to provide a high level customer journey once implemented. An Engineer by trade Lee is highly specialised in problem solving and creating a supportive structure that constantly reviews a high quality output with the customer being of priority concern.
In his spare time Lee enjoys playing football, having once been a semi-professional, and is a member of the local pelican running club. He also is a keen motorbike rider, enjoys all travel and is currently training to do a triathlon in 2019.
Chief Operating Officer
Alex is an ACA qualified chartered accountant and has occupied senior Finance positions in the banking, information technology and debt recovery sectors before joining Pelican Business Services in May 2015.
Having had a balance of FTSE and SME roles, Alex is able to draw upon a variety of experiences when faced with business challenges as and when they arise. Alex has occupied Board level positions for over 10 years of his career and has extensive project experience including large-scale outsourcing, implementing new IT systems and developing analytical tools to drive better decision making.
As well as spending time with his wife and two children, Alex enjoys running, playing football and partaking in the occasional sky dive and abseiling event.
Director of Customer Services
Oliver joined the Pelican team in January 2018 having spent 16 years in financial services leading large customer facing teams and supporting national change programmes. He is passionate about creating a positive and engaging working environment for our people, whilst delivering a great experience for our customers.
Outside of work, Oliver has two daughters who keep him busy, he is a big football fan with a season ticket at Bristol Rovers, and enjoys travelling, film and technology.
Head of Credit Management
Amy joined the team at Pelican in 2016 as Credit Manager, bringing with her a wealth of experience in leadership in financial services. Amy took on her new position as Head of Credit Management in 2017 and looks after our Credit Operations, Social Policy and External Liaison teams. She is proud to be part of a culture where support and guidance is provided to customers who may struggle with their bills.
As well as coaching and developing her team, Amy enjoys being a member of Weston-Super-Mare athletic club and is qualified running leader.
