Our community work is in full swing for 2017 and I am happy to report that so far we have raised a fantastic £264.58 for this quarter’s charity Free Wheelers Blood Bikes! The team are working hard with Colin from the organisation to support them with the amazing work that they do savings lives by providing out-of-hours motorcycle courier service to hospitals in the South West of England.
This month I would like to recognise Jacqui from our Customer Relations team following a compliment she received from one of our customers. On this occasion the customer was so impressed with the level of service received he took the time to write a letter stating his sincere appreciation of the manner that he was dealt with, removing any stress and making the whole process easy. To quote the customer he said:
“I am terribly impressed. Please accept my sincere thanks for the superb handling of this issue by Jacqui; she is truly a credit to your organisation”.
Well done to Jacqui and thank you for demonstrating ownership and resolving the customers query at the first point of contact.
Our customer service is one of many things that makes me feel proud to be part of Pelican Business Services, including our field-based team who do a great job interacting with customers every day. I’d like to recognise Tom, one of our Meter Readers based in Corfe Mullen following a recent call into our Contact Centre where the customer was so impressed with the service they wanted to let us know what a credit Tom is to our company
We pride ourselves on providing a warm and local voice for all our customers and what better way to demonstrate this than sharing with you a quote from a letter I received:
“Natalie has the ‘gift’ of projecting her nice personality on the phone and making it a stress-free phone call”

Moving onto Health and Well-being and our H&W committee were back full force this month with their 2017 relaunch week. It was great to see so many of the team getting involved with the activities to support them make healthy lifestyle choices. Thank you to our guests from Cadbury Gyms and Attic Tea for taking the time to come visit our team and highlight what you have to offer.
One of the main talking points during February was of course our 2017 pedometer inter department challenge following a huge success during 2016. Our Credit Management department was keen to hold on to the title of most steps and were crowned the champions for 2017 and completed a phenomenal 150,620 steps equating to 71.32 miles, in second placed was our External Liaison field based team who completed 99,856 steps. Well done team Credit Management!!
