With the season of goodwill in mind, Pelican Business Services were proud to support Trussell Trust by collecting food donations from the team and taking part in charity dress down days for Weston Food Bank. I recently read an article that the foodbank was in high demand this Christmas and one thing they were really struggling with was canned meat. I am extremely proud of the support and commitment from everyone at Pelican Business Services and was overwhelmed to hear we collected an amazing 287.6 kilograms when we visited the charity to drop off the food.

The fundraising didn’t stop there and we raised a further £84.96 for Save the Children by joining in with the festive fun and taking part in World Christmas Jumper day.

During 2016 I am humbled with the work we have done supporting local charities, we have raised over £4,500 and we have supported an amazing 14 charities.  This is an amazing achievement as a business and I am so, so proud of the entire team for their kindness and community spirit, thank you for all you do.

Keeping on theme of giving, Pelican Business Services were honoured to attend the Housing Association Christmas fair in Bridgwater. Our team spent their day giving out GunkPot’s and other water saving devices whilst providing advice on water saving and schemes to reduce water bills.

Free GunkPot’s and other water saving devices are available through the Save Water Save Money website.

As we finish 2016 and look forward to a prosperous 2017 I thought, I’d finish up by sharing a quote by an author called Mathew Kelly. His book focuses on how you ‘become the best version of yourself’, and working at Pelican Towers with such a great team this resonates with me massively.

“become the best possible version of ourselves”

‘The people we surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards. They either help us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves. We become like friends. No man becomes great on his own. No woman becomes great on her own. The people around them help to make them great.

We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves.’

Wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!!
